Chocolate & Vanilla Marble Cake (Cyril Lignac)

For the vanilla batter :

For the chocolate batter:

Instructions :

  • Preheat the oven to 165°C (325°F). Butter and lightly flour a loaf pan.

For the vanilla batter:

  • First whisk the egg yolks and sugar together, then add the cream.
  • Whisk in the flour and baking powder, then the melted butter until fully incorporated. Set aside.

For the chocolate batter:

  • Whisk the egg yolks, sugar, and cocoa powder together, then add the cream.
  • Add the flour and baking powder, whisk, then add the melted butter and stir until combined.

To assemble the cake: (easy way)

  • Pour half of the vanilla batter in the pan and spread, then pour the chocolate batter on top. Add the rest of the vanilla batter. Using a spatula, spoon, or knife, gently push the utensil into the batter and pull up, mixing the flavors together.

To assemble the cake: (harder way)

  • Take a large spoonful of the vanilla batter and put into the loaf pan (in different spots) then a bit of the chocolate batter, alternating colors until all batter is used. Then, using a spatula, spoon, or knife, gently push the utensil into the batter and pull up, mixing the flavors together
